Sunday Musical Interlude - Jan. 9 2011
Welcome ladies and gentlemen to 2011! It feels like a while since I’ve done one of these, but getting back into the swing of academia (with its vagaries of studying swiftly followed by drinking) is taking its toll.
This week I’ve got a track from one of my favourite indy games of last year, VVVVVV, an awesomely titled old-school platformer that at last glance was selling for something around four dollars on Steam. So if any of the words in that last sentence got your attention you have no excuse not to pick it up.
I had a hard time picking a singular favourite from the soundtrack, as it’s all an example of chiptronica at its best, but here’s “Potential for Anything”.
I feel the need to reiterate: if you like old-school games at all you really should give VVVVVV a try.
