Sunday Musical Interlude - Jan. 16 2011

Welcome back to another edition of “Sunday Musical Interlude”, wherein I show you whatever video game soundtrack has been stuck in my head for the past week.
For this installment, I’m putting on a pedestal the musical centerpiece of last-year’s out-of-its-fucking-mind brawler Bayonetta. The track, “Fly Me to the Moon”, may sound somewhat familiar to even the most casual music listener: originally written in 1954 by jazz composer Bart Howard and sung by Felicia Sanders, “Fly Me to the Moon” has been sung by such musical luminaries of the years as Nat King Cole, Marvin Gaye, and Frank Sinatra.
And now you can listen to it whilst beating the hell out of animal-faced angel creatures! Truly no greater commendation could ever be awarded upon a song.
Trust me, if you’re like me and listen to it a couple of times, this version of “Fly Me to the Moon” will become so lodged into your brain you’ll have no choice but to sing it endlessly under your breath, in public or private.
