Sunday Musical Interlude - Feb. 6 2011
This week is something of a stretch, seeing as how it isn’t technically a song made for a video game. But damnit, it’s in a video game, and it’s a pretty good song too, so I’m considering it acceptable.
The game? Borderlands. The song? Cage the Elephant’s “Ain’t No Rest For The Wicked”. Although Borderlands itself was missing a bit too much story and gameplay variety for me to endorse it wholeheartedly, I have to give it to the developers over at Gearbox for designing one hell of a good introduction.
(Now this isn’t officially the intro sequence to Borderlands, but the video does contain the full intro. Close enough.)
The song suits the atmosphere to a tee, and the moment when they pump up the volume really gets the viewer (or, at least, me) pumped up. It’s a great song, and an awesome way to open the curtains on Borderlands.
